Country KitchenFebruary 2008 - In 2007, Bergquist Memorial, located at Heritage Village Retirement Campus, received an EnAbLE grant which paid for the design and construction of a "Country Kitchen", located on the second floor of Bergquist Memorial.  The "Country Kitchen" gives residents an opportunity to bake their favorite recipes and enjoy the company of others in a relaxed atmosphere.  The EnAbLE grant also provided Bergquist Memorial with high definition televisions featuring surround sound for each of the lounges and a interactive karaoke machine.

Thanks to the generosity of the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, a Field of Interest grant paid for the purchase of a Nintendo Wii game system.  Popular with millions of teenagers throughout the world, the Wii has proved remarkably effective in improving the lives of seniors as well.  Unlike regular video games, the Wii requires players to swing a wand and move their whole bodies to compete.  For seniors, this makes an effective physical therapy tool.   The Heritage Group hopes to add more Wii game systems to the activity departments at each of its three Rehab & Skilled Nursing facilities this year.
