March 2008 - Recently, The Heritage Group honored Mindy Lawson, Physical Therapist, as their March Wellness Worker of the Month.  The Heritage Group established the Wellness Worker of the Month program in 2007 to help promote healthy eating and exercise for employees at each of its three Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing facilities and Retirement Campus. 

Mindy was nominated for the award because she recently qualified to participate in the Boston Marathon.  She began running in junior high school to lose weight and focus on a life of fitness.  Twenty years later, she is still running strong.  Mindy has many pre-dawn early morning runs due to being a full-time mother and working professional. 

Mindy is thankful she has a helpful, supportive family that encourages her to reach her goals.  She states, “Running has boosted my self-esteem as I have continued to meet my personal goals.  The Boston Marathon has been a major goal of mine and I hope to run and compete in more marathons in the future”.
