Judge Judith Claire at Heritage HouseApril 2008 - Recently, children at Heritage House Childcare & Learning Center had the opportunity to listen to a story read by Family Court Judge Judith Claire celebrating the YWCA’s Week Of The Young Child, an annual celebration of early childhood.

Judge Claire cheerfully read Book! Book! Book! by Deborah Bruss.  After the completion of the book reading, the children received another special treat with a surprise visit from Clifford the Big Red Dog.  Clifford shared many hugs and also passed out copies of his book, The Big Red Barn.

“Heritage House Childcare & Learning Center was honored to have Judge Judith Claire visit us to celebrate the Week Of The Young Child,” explains Mary Ellen Carlson, Director of Heritage House.  “We are proud to partner with the YWCA Parent Education Initiative to bring this event to the children of Heritage House.  This was a perfect opportunity to reinforce the importance of Reading Readiness with our children.”

Heritage House offers several benefits to local families. All families with children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years are eligible to apply, and will be considered based on space availability.  Heritage House is open weekdays from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and offers emergency childcare available each day for pre-registered children.
