June 2009 - Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing, Inc. is one of the recipients of IPRO’s 2009 Quality Awards. The Quality Awards, given annually by IPRO, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for New York State, recognize health care providers that demonstrate a commitment to improving health care services in the state. “Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing has shown that a collaborative, focused effort can lead to tangible improvements in the quality of care delivered to New York’s Medicare beneficiaries,” says Clare B. Bradley, MD, MPH, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, IPRO. “Quality improvement is a complex and time-consuming process, and we thank Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing for their commitment to the health of New Yorkers.” “Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing is proud to have been selected to receive an IPRO 2009 Quality Award,” states Jeff Ondrey, Administrator, Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. “We pride ourselves on providing the highest level of quality rehabilitation and compassionate skilled nursing care in Chautauqua County. This award represents our commitment to not only improving our healthcare services, but fulfilling our mission statement, which is to serve others through Christ-centered ministries which promote hope, dignity, and purposeful living.” IPRO’s 2009 Quality Awards were conferred at its Annual Membership Meeting on June 2nd. Dr. Bradley noted that Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing “received the award because of their dedication to improving care for Medicare beneficiaries; their passionate commitment to the safety of their residents; and their success in reducing the incidence of pressure ulcers in high-risk residents.” With more than 20 years of experience in health care quality improvement and evaluation, IPRO holds major contracts with state and federal governments to review the cost and quality of services provided to Medicaid recipients, Medicare beneficiaries, and patients enrolled in managed care organizations and to support the health care community in improving those services.
