The Sellew Society is named for our founder, Bishop Walter A. Sellew. Bishop Sellew saw the creation of Heritage Ministries as a vision from God, and in 1886, established the Orphanage and Home of the Free Methodist Church in Gerry, New York. This orphanage provided loving care to the many children it served, but in 1966, the decision was made to concentrate the ministry more on older adults. Over the years, the ministry of Heritage Ministries has grown to include an independent and assisted living campus, three reah & skilled nursing facilities, and now a childcare and learning center. All of these ministries would not have been possible without the support of our donors and friends. Becoming a member of the Sellew Society can be accomplished in several different ways.
