Volunteer Opportunities

co_09

Volunteers are a valuable asset to our non-for profit organization.  They are an essential aspect to the high level of quality of care we provide to countless seniors at Heritage Ministries. Our volunteers dedicate their time to making life better for individuals who reside in our skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Volunteers give a very special gift to others each time they visit ... their time!

Keep in mind volunteering can be a very rewarding experience for both the volunteer and the person they are spending time with.  Just ask some of our current volunteers!

Marcia Wallo’s mother had been a resident at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing.  After her mother’s passing Marcia says, “I felt I needed to pay back all of the kindness she received while living at Heritage Village.”

Marcia began volunteering at the facility.  When asked about why she volunteers, Marcia replied, “Volunteering for me is a privilege and a gift.  I get great joy from making even one person smile and sharing my time.”

Janet Peterson who resides at Heritage Village Retirement Campus leads a weekly baking group at Bergquist Memorial Assisted Living.  Janet shares, “Like many other people who move into retirement, I wondered how I would find purpose and meaning in my days.  I have found much fulfillment in baking every Friday morning with the residents in our assisted living facility.  Many fondly remember days in the kitchen with their mothers and making cookies with their children and grandchildren.  Most of the residents I bake with say this is the best day of the week for them.”

Volunteers enrich the lives of others with their own personal touch. Each volunteer contributes his or her time, talents and interests to helping meet the personal needs and desires of our residents.  Volunteer opportunities are available to people of all ages, whether you are someone who is still working or retired.  High school or college students required to complete community serve projects for course credits are welcomed at any of our locations.
