Lisa Haglund, President and CEO of Heritage Ministries, recently welcomed Jessica Thomas, FNP, as the new Infection Control Preventionist. Thomas will oversee infection control related operations in Heritage New York skilled nursing and rehabilitation communities and assist in leading infection control practices for all of our communities, nationwide.
Haglund shared, “We are honored to welcome Jessica into her new position at Heritage. Jessica has an extensive history in senior housing and nursing, including over 13 years of service with Heritage. We know she will serve our teams with grace, love, and appreciation, and ensure we follow all guidance to care for, and protect, our residents and valued employees.”
Thomas, who resides in Sinclairville, NY with her family, has worked extensively to build her career in nursing, beginning with her LPN from BOCES in 2008, before graduating from Jamestown Community College in 2012 as a Registered Nurse (RN).
After graduation from JCC, Thomas pursued her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN), graduating from Chamberlain College in 2019, going on to become a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and earning her Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Utica College in 2021.
Thomas will oversee all policy, procedure, and education aspects of infection control and prevention at Heritage including planning, organizing, coordinating, and mentoring members of care teams to ensure that all residents receive high quality nursing care. She will also be responsible for the development, evaluation, and procedures of the department, and staff training and education in relation to infection control and prevention.
