Dear Friends of Heritage,
As Chair of the Heritage Ministries Board of Directors, I think it’s important to celebrate our success and highlight opportunities when our commitment to care is recognized.
Please join the Board and I in congratulating Lisa Haglund, Heritage Ministries President and CEO, for being recognized on the Buffalo Business First Power 200 Women’s List. Lisa became the first female CEO in Heritage’s history when she assumed the role in April 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. I know Lisa accepts this honor on behalf of all the hardworking women and men on her team.
This is Lisa’s second stop on the Power 200 Women list, and it follows two straight years of inclusion as a member of Buffalo Business First’s Power 250. Lisa’s ascension through the ranks of both lists is a testament to her leadership and an acknowledgement of the important role Heritage Ministries serves in the Western New York community.
Lisa is a tireless advocate for change, and a strong voice for our seniors and the dedicated staff who care for them. Two years into a historic staffing crisis, this industry needs a champion for its workforce. Heritage has that in Lisa, who with support of this board, has demonstrated an unmatched commitment to her staff with consistent salary increases in each of the last two years.
“Lisa Haglund assumed the role of first female CEO in the 135-year history of the Heritage Ministries organization amid financial stressors, an onslaught of regulatory changes, staffing shortages, and a global pandemic. Throughout the challenges, her demeanor remains positive and forward thinking. She is mission minded with a faith-filled understanding of the unique challenges of senior housing. She is a strong voice for the weak. Mrs. Haglund is helping promote Hope, Dignity and Purposeful Living for seniors in the direct care of Heritage,” said Board Member Susan Wilston.
Board Member Larry Roberts said, “Lisa Haglund is a great CEO. But what sets Lisa apart from many who lead fine organizations is her deep devotion to Jesus Christ. As such, she sees her role as ministry to those we serve. Her focus is on them, their safety, comfort, and fulfillment. Through these incredibly difficult times that focus has resulted in superior care and creative solutions which have actually resulted in Heritage Ministries being in a better financial position today than prior to COVID.”
To deliver the consistent level of quality care our residents deserve, it will take the continued commitment of Lisa and her team. The community has come to expect that from Heritage Ministries, and it’s nice that Buffalo Business First has noticed too.
Congratulations to Lisa. Thank you for your continued support.
