With $8 Million in Expansions Underway, Heritage Continues Growth

With acquisitions outside the state completed, Heritage Ministries Charitable Care Network has returned its focus to Western New York, with two projects in the works valued at nearly $8 million.

The Chautauqua County organization is beginning a $5 million project at its Gerry assisted living campus, adding more beds and a new community center. That’s in addition to a $2.8 million expansion at its Woodlands Facility in Jamestown, where six new independent living units will open at year’s end.

The new project at the Homestead Retirement Community in Gerry will expand services for residents at Bergquist Memorial Assisted Living Residence as well as the organization’s independent living community at the Chautauqua County campus.

Construction on phase one of the project begins Aug. 1 for a new community center attached building with a full service kitchen, new dining rooms, offices and community spaces, including an outdoor patio with fire pit. Once completed, the second phase will convert the space into six new rooms, with three designed to accommodate couples in semi-private rooms. The nine new beds will increase capacity at the assisted living center to 41.
