Farm Fresh

Family members at The Homestead have kept everyone well supplied with fresh produce from their gardens. Don and Janet Peterson, who owned a farm prior to moving to Heritage, love growing multiple types of produce in their own garden right at The Homestead and sharing the fruits of their labor. The couple has shared many different types of vegetables they have grown with the community this year including corn, zucchini, summer squash, and beans.

Don shared, “My wife and I spent 30 years on our family farm in Sherman, New York. When the time came to consider independent living options, moving wasn’t easy, but we were ready for the freedom and security that comes with a home maintained by Heritage. Not straying too far from our roots, The Homestead offers country living just outside the city; it’s the best of both worlds!”
